Well i wanted to finally introduce my newest family member. I've had him over a month but since I had to give up the last dog we tried to adopt I didn't want to get over excited, but the bear is here to stay.
His story is as follows - was at a shelter (no history prior to this) and the shelter was closing down, so local rescues picked up the dogs so they didn't have to be put down. Bear was picked up by a doberman rescue and was with them for 6 months since people going to them were generally looking for a doberman, our friends heard about him and the foster home said we could have him on trial.
Besides being quite overweight (a problem I can deal with) he is exactly what we needed for our family. He is housetrained, been around cats and dogs, and is already 7 so a very quiet boy. Not sure about the breed... lab x with something. I learned a lot about cat-dog intros afte rhte last dog and took this very slow, over the course of a month really and I still keep them seperated when I'm not home, although I think I have nothing to worry about...
With no further adieu... meet.... the bear.
And here is his before picture.... after to come in a few months...
He has a perfectly clean bill of health from the vet and has been a joy!
