Hi there.... My name is Chris and I'm from ON, Canada.
I have a range of pets, which include:
1 dog
1 kitten (reason I am on this board
)
2 bearded dragons
1 leopard gecko
40 + snakes. ( I breed snakes as a hobby )
I haven't had a cat since my Gysmo passed away approx. 6 yrs ago. He was my sweetie, I had had him since I was 17. He was a barn kitty given to me when he was 3mos old. He was the sweetest, big fluffy boy that you could imagine. When I got pregnant at 19, he would curl up on my preggy belly and sleep. When Kendra was born, he took a great liking to her. Curious at first, then best friends. I have never met a cat that would allow an infant to crawl and lay on him. He tolerated everything my daughter would do...from the cuddles to the accidental tail pulls, etc. When my second daughter came along 4yrs later, he was the exact same with her. Euthanising him was the hardest thing we ever had to do. My daughters were 6 and 2.
Anyways, after Gysmo, my husband who is not fond of cats, was the reason I did not get another. Over the last 2-3yrs, having a cat is something that I thought about quite often. My husband and I talked about it on the weekend, and yesterday he gave me the ok
I had been researching shelters, and put a wanted ad up over the weekend and a kind lady responded to me. She obviously loves her kitties, and this lil boy is from her two adults. After putting up with my questions (which I had a lot of, I wanted the cat that was just right for me) she brought me my 4mos old boy today.
He is a bi-color (I think that's what you call it) ragdoll. He's only been here for a couple hours and is quite shy. For now, he is in my bedroom getting used to that, and will gradually get to explore elsewhere after he warms up to us.
I have a few questions, and will post them in the other forums.
Thanks for reading.
