Hello all. I've been a lurker on this website for a while now. Lots of great info and it feels like a very welcoming community. Finally made my first post, figured I should introduce myself and my cats as well.
First up is Meowbert. He's 1.5 years old. I adopted him from a shelter when he was 4 months old. They named him Simba but I didn't think it fit very well, what with his grey tabby coat. I think Meowbert fits much better, don't you? FYI, his full name is Professor Meowbert, PhD. My husband makes sure everyone knows that when they first meet Meowbert lol.
Meowbert is very timid and shy, but a big love bug. He's the most well behaved cat I think I've ever had. I rarely have to correct him, and he knew how to play fetch at 5 months old, no training needed! One day he dropped a toy in my lap and sat there waiting. I threw it, and he brought it back. He's also very vocal, if I meow, he meows. It's like having a dog in cat form. He's also a whopping 13 pounds, and that's all muscle and cat fur.
And 2 months ago our neighbors knocked on our door asking if we had room for a kitten that they found in a Walmart parking lot. I was hesitant to say yes, expecting it to be a bedraggled, flea-ridden looking stray, but they brought over this beautiful little kitten who is loving as all can be, curious, and not afraid of anything! She wanted to play with Meowbert as soon as we put her on the floor (Meowbert was terrified though, and of course we introduced them slowly over the course of 2 weeks). She's very headstrong and can be difficult at times, but she's incredibly smart and comes when you call her name, every time. She has the silliest expressions I've ever seen on a cat and she cracks me up almost every day. I named her Midna, and she's 6.5 months old.
I think her markings make her look like a badger lol.
Bet you weren't expecting that last one
Target Acquired.
Help, tech support? I think my cat is broken!
Beware the blanket shark!
I don't even know what to say about this one
