I have a 9 year old female Tabby-Tortoise feral cat named Katarina. The thing about this little Torby is she has an anxiety issue where she will frequently (not daily) pee in curtain areas of the house almost the whole time we've had her which has been about 7 years. Most popular spots being a carpet on the second floor and dinning room carpet where she would usually be found. I dont know if this information is useful but her litter box is in a narrowish bathroom. We have been considering getting another slightly older or slightly younger male Russian Blue cat who would most likely be a house cat to hopefully show her there isnt anything to be afraid of and in hopes showing her that having another feline companion wouldbe a positive addition to her life and ours. Our biggest problem with this we have no idea if bringing this cat into our home will trigger her to go all territorial and have her start peeing all over the place. We are in desperate need of advice to help stop the peeing issue and hopefully make a relationship with the 2 cats where our Torby's anxiety levels will decrease and she will be able to live under the roof of another cat and be calm about it. Advice is greatly needed.

Have you tried adding a second litterbox? The general advice is to have one box for each cat it the house, plus one. Some cats are incredibly finicky about their boxes. Also, hen she does go un one of her two spots, do you clean the spot with a good enzyme cleaner? If not, she may still be able to smell the urine (even if humans can't) and keep going back there.

I'd recommend havin a look through our litterbox guides if you haven't already. There's tons of useful information and suggestion in there:

Honestly a second cat could help or hurt, depending on the cause of her anxiety. Is it's caused by seoeration, then a comoanion would likely help, but if it's environmentsl, it could make it worse

We have put a litter box on the second floor reducing alot of her marking and relocated the one down stairs but she still has been marking the carpet in the room where we relocated the box and the spot is right next to her litter box. We would like to know how to get her to start and trust in using her litter box.
