I delivered an overdue loaded trailer to one of our New Orleans stores in the wee hours this morning. It's in Metairie, a northwest suburb, just as you come into the city. There wasn't a lot of obvious damage, although it looked like electrical power was hit or miss, and you could hear a lot of generators running.
I-10 was completely closed in a couple of places between Baton Rouge and New Orleans. I had to go across I-12 to I-55 and then down to I-10. Almost all the exits on that stretch were closed due to flooding. Fortunately, the interstate is on stilts where there was flooding.
I have used up virtually all of my 70 legal work hours this week. If I have calculated correctly, I should get home with about 30 minutes to spare, assuming I don't run into any delays.
