I ordered some raw rabbit medallions a week ago for Penny through PFD.
They charged about $33 for a 1 lb bag to be shipped.
Instead of shipping it overnight, they sent it 2nd day air. When it arrived yesterday, the dry ice had completely evaporated and the medallions were completely defrosted.
Oh - and they sent BEEF, not the rabbit I had ordered.
I called, told them what happened, requested that I get what I ordered, please, and asked what to do with the beef ones. They asked if I had any neighbors with dogs, and I said yes, so they said just give them away and they will resend out the rabbit for me.
I got into work this morning, and PFD's customer service had left me a weird voicemail saying that they can't send me the rabbit because they are out of stock, and that they had put 4 pounds of dry ice in and can't understand why it had all evaporated. (Uhm, hello, they should have shipped it OVERNIGHT, not 2nd day!)
Then they said that it looks like this raw shipping isn't working for them so they are probably going to stop offering it and they will refund my credit card for the purchase, and so sorry.
Mixed feelings for me - and now I need to place an order from another company. The stuff is EXPENSIVE, so I can only order a small bag - does anyone have any recommendations about where I can order raw rabbit from for Penny?
