Is it true that incest between a female cat and its brother will produce unhealthy kittens?
I've read it online that if there is a bad gene in their blood, it will increase the chance for the kittens to inherit the bad gene and get sick.

My female cat has recently had 5 babies who all didn't survived due to unidentified illness. The first kitten died when it was 10 days old, the following 2 kittens was 12 days old, the 4th one was 14 days old and the last one was 17 days old.

It could be a number of reasons that has caused their death but I am just curious whether incest is the leading factor.
I've never experience this kind of situation where all of my kittens die.
I've had raised a lot of kittens in my whole life and this is just saddening.

In addition to that, some of the kittens had some kind of a trouble to suckle from their mother.

Due to that, i've had feed them with kitten milk replacer to ensure that they are well nourished. However it didn't seem to work as they all didn't make it.

If anybody is wondering, why i didn't spay and neuter them in the first place?
I was about to, but the law here is the cats needed to be vaccinated 3 times first before proceeding with the spaying and neutering procedure.

The female cat has been vaccinated once only because due to my busy schedule and transportation issue, i couldn't visit the vet as often as i needed to. Hence, they couldn't get fix fast enough to prevent this problem.

Yes, it's true that incest can result in unhealthy genetics.

Are you now able to spay and neuter your cats?

Please keep them separated until they are fixed so this does not happen again.

It is not normal that cats must be vaccinated several times before spaying however. I'm not sure where you got that idea.

Where do you live? City and state please. We can help you find a low-cost spay/neuter clinic.

I'm sorry your kittens all died. It could have been some other sickness that caused it as well.

I'm not in US.
I'm from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
I'm afraid that is the regulation in my district.

I'm considering the idea to go to the vet in other districts perhaps.
So that i can get them fix asap.
But with my limited time and budget, not sure that it is feasible.
Thanks for your reply, btw :-)

Yes, it's very likely that sister/brother parents could be the cause of death.

It could be millions of other issues though.

When you bottlefed them, how did you hold the kitten?
What was the temp of the formula?
How much did the kittens eat?
Did they nurse, at all?
Did they get any colustrum from mamma?
Did they ever get chilled, even for a short period of time?
Did you stimulate them to go potty after you fed them?
What color and consistent was their poo and pee?
What did they weigh when they were born?
Were they continuously gaining weight?

I'm so sorry for your loss, it must be very hard and I can't imagine.

Please keep all female cats inside and away from all males cats until they get fixed.
