I'm an old school traditionalist muslim. If one were to equate the muslim world to the christian, I'd be firmly in the eastern orthodox/thousand+ years of tradition camp, as opposed to the more sola scripture group.
I completely agree with you. I mean, the entire world would be in harmony if no one discussed religionOriginally Posted by libby74

No one in my family knows about my beliefs except my husband.
I'd have to say that the only time I have a problem with someone else's beliefs is when they try to convince me that THEIR beleifs are the only ones that are acceptable.
thanks - that was kinda fun!Originally Posted by MargeCat
There's an interesting test at belief.net that you can take. It lists your beliefs according to the percentage in your make-up.
1. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (100%)
2. Orthodox Quaker (82%)
3. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (71%)
4. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (69%)
5. Eastern Orthodox (69%)
6. Roman Catholic (69%)
7. Seventh Day Adventist (66%)
8. Baha'i Faith (64%)
9. Islam (62%)
10. Orthodox Judaism (62%)
11. Christian Science (Church of Christ, Scientist) (59%)
12. Jehovah's Witness (55%)
13. Liberal Quakers (49%)
14. Sikhism (43%)
15. Reform Judaism (42%)
16. New Thought (40%)
17. Unitarian Universalism (37%)
18. Mahayana Buddhism (37%)
19. Theravada Buddhism (37%)
20. Scientology (35%)
21. Jainism (33%)
22. Nontheist (32%)
23. Neo-Pagan (29%)
24. Hinduism (27%)
25. New Age (26%)
26. Taoism (24%)
27. Secular Humanism (22%)
I think the percentages show how well your views match with the doctrine of each religion. So your views coincide 100% with mainline protestantism, all the way down to only 22% with secular humanism.Originally Posted by laureen227
strange that the percentages don't add up to 100%, tho...i mean, if i'm 100% the 1st, why the others?
here's mine
Yes, I'm sorry about my goof--that's what I meant to say! Thanks!Originally Posted by Grogs
