I just got back from my 6 week follow-up to my July 7th surgery for endometrial cancer.

I got the pathology results back today. The news is good!
The cancer hadn't spread so surgery is all that I need!

I have to have very close monitoring for the next 6 years, a physical exam every 3 months for the next 2 years, gradually decreasing in frequency until 6 years. Then I'll be discharged from the clinic and considered "cured."
But for now I'm cancer "free" which is a huge relief!

I go back to work on August 30th, as planned.

Thanks!

When they told me I burst into tears and cried nonstop for nearly 1/2 hour! My poor doctor! He told me that he'll never understand women! We cry when we're sad, and we cry when we're happy!

Congrats

This is so weird. For those of us who still see ads on this forum, the ad right under your post is for "The Big C" on Showtime! (guess what it's about!)

Well, I don't think I'll be tuning into that!! Not sure how they think a comedy about someone with terminal cancer is funny! I didn't find any humour in my non-terminal cancer experience.

PS: I plan on ordering in dinner and opening a bottle of wine that I've had since Christmas.

I am so happy for you. Dealing with it is terrifying. My daughter has done it two times. You certainly deserve to celebrate. It is wonderful that you are finished with it.

What excellent news

My friend had the same last year and had a hysterectomy. She's like a new woman now
