Last night we were playing and I accidentally stepped on Nismo's paw! I feel like a terrible Mum I'm never going to get rid of the sound of her scream from my head! She ran away and was holding her paw up and hiding, when I managed to get her I gave her a cuddle and then felt her leg and paw all over to see her reaction and she didn't seem to be in any pain so I put her down and she just went on top of the cat tree and lay down.
I felt so terrible I can't even tell you. I've discovered that she likes a bit of cheese so I took her to the kitchen and Mark gave her some which she ate but she normally purrs frantically and wasn't at all... When I put her down on the counter she was holding her paw up again so I phoned the vet straight away and they said to take her up.
The vet was brilliant and spent a long time manipulating her leg and feeling all over it, must be like trying to find a needle in a haystack... he said he couldn't feel anything but said something about a possible Green Line Fracture? Has anyone heard of this? He said it can be a fracture on one side of the bone? He said if we wanted to make sure we could take her back this morning and they would sedate her and take an X-ray... I'm really not keen on this.
I watched her like a hawk last night and she seems ok, quite subdued though, I think she got a shock.
She is certainly now putting weight on that leg and is running around, I'm just not sure how far I need to go with this, or if she would still be running around on a fracture?
If anyone's been in this situation please let me know as I'm not sure whether to take her back or not...
Thanks so much
Lauren
