Hi all! Just wanted to share Batman's photos and his story.
In June, we found 4 kittens in our window well!
By the time we were able to rescue, we were only able to get 3 - mommy cat moved the 4th somewhere. Looked for days - couldn't find him.... here were the three on their first day inside:
After some settling in, they became happy playful kittens:
Meanwhile, we kept feeding Momma cat (Patches) and eventually got her trapped/spayed/released.
2 of the kittens got adopted. After some consideration to other pets (my cockatiels), we did end up deciding to adopt Batman. He was such a shy kitten until his brothers got adopted out, but got way more outgoing and became a very happy purry boy. (He did not purr until he was alone - he was so scared of us until he was alone!!)
Since we were feeding Patches every night, I would go out and look at her through the window. That's when I realized #4 kitten was still with her!!!
We ended up trapping kitten #4 and found someone very nice to socialize and foster him. He is doing much better - still very very shy and not quite adoptable, but doing better every day. Sweet boy. Here is a recent photo of him from his foster mom:
Batman is growing up fast - such a sweet loving boy. We are so happy we decided to keep him as part of the family. He's a lot of fun and so cute and playful:
Although he gets into trouble sometimes....
Meanwhile outside... been trying to build a relationship with Patches. Outside, she would eat in front of me and be within 1 foot of me while eating. We decided to try to retrap her again and bring her inside. After 3 weeks of trying, we successfully got her! Here she is, very very afraid and nervous.
She's been inside not quite a week yet.. progress is going slow.. that's in another thread in the Stray/Feral section of the board.
Just wanted to show everyone my family via an illustrated story.
