In my opinion, if a cat - or ANY animal for that matter - is a hurt in a film, it ruins the entire thing for me. I tried to watch the Boondock Saints, a "classic" I kept hearing, and then the scene where they shoot the cat... URGH, I was just so disturbed. Maybe I'm too sensitive. I just can't stand it. Anyone recall I Am Legend, the scene where his dog turns and he has to kill her? I cried for a full ten minutes after that and couldn't bring myself to care for the rest of the movie. I can't stand that stuff! Why is that kind of thing necessary? It's not.
Thanks for the heads-up. Sad to hear, considering I love Gary Oldman, but definitely not worth it.
