I am glad your cat is some better. It is so scarey when they get sick suddenly. Have they determined that her kidneys are okay. Sending prayers for the sweet baby.

Another update:

Kiwi's temperature was still high, and she absolutely refused to eat.

So, I have taken her to a diagnostic/assessment veterinary clinic that is state of the art, has different departments (ICU, Internal medicine, Cardiac unit, etc) and she has had an ultrasound, I'm just waiting for the results. Hopefully we'll have a better idea of where to go from there.

She has had a complete blood work-up and urinalysis done and has had x-rays taken so far, so her kidneys have been checked in those areas, they will also be checked on the ultrasound. The real concern right now is her liver.

Update at 6:00pm Feb. 8th

Kiwi had an ultrasound done yesterday and they found that her stomach was very dilated. So, they put her on supportive care overnight with some more medication and re-ultrasounded her today. Her stomach is much less dilated today than it was yesterday.

She still won't eat on her own, but she will when they offer it to her.

Also, her fever is down!! Still the high end of normal, but it's in the normal range!! **happy dance**!!

The vet said that provided she stays stable through the night and keeps her food down, she can come home tomorrow!!! WOOT!!

So thank you very much for the good thoughts and prayers, they are much appreciated!!

Kiwi wanted me to thank you all on her behalf for the wonderful good thoughts and vibes. They payed off!

She came home Saturday and was still pretty doped up and out of it. But, she had a good sleep and ate with some encouragement/hand feeding.

Now she's eating on her own!
Her appetite still isn't 100% yet, but getting there! She's bright and alert, and as vocal as ever! I can't even tell you how happy it makes me to hear her "MROW!" at me in the morning, for awhile there I was worried I would never hear it again.

Here's a few pictures of her this morning:

"Ewwie, I smell like hospital, must get clean!!"

Thanks again from Kiwi and Me!!

It was either pancreatitis or a really bad salmonella or clostridium infection. So I'm not really sure where the dilated stomach fits in, to be honest. They said that they see it a lot with blockages and FIP, but she didn't have either of those, Thank God.

Tabico!! I've never heard that!

When people ask what color she is (that haven't met her) I always say "well, she's a calico, but she's kinda tabby too...." and they look at me funny.

Thanks! Now I know I'm not crazy.
