I take a private transportation service to work. Yesterday on the way home I was picked up in a van. We stopped and picked up another person and he was sitting next to me. I was trying to read my eReader, and he was the chatty kind, and was constantly turning towards me to either talk to me, or to the driver in the front.
His breath not only made my eyes water, but I also started to feel like I was going to throw up. It smelled so much like rancid poop! I offered him a breath mint and he declined. I offered it a second time, and again he declined.
So I was put in the position of having to tell this guy that he had seriously bad breath, and to take the darn mint!
Moral of this story is that if someone offers you a mint, take it, because it's likely being offered for a reason.
