Our beloved cat Icarus was sent over the bridge today to a place pain free and happy. My husband and I adopted Icarus when he was a just a kitten, a couple weeks old. He chose us. My husband might come on here and post so I will leave the story of how we found Icarus and how he found us to him.
Icarus was a great cat. A cat and a half. He was so full of life. So friendly, so annoying, so funny, so curious, so loved. Icarus loved people. His heart was so big we couldn't keep it to ourselves, so Icarus was free to roam our complex, where he met tons of friends. He knew more people than we do. We would watch as he would run up to people to greet them, lay down while the kids next door petted him. I know in time as people continue to ask us where he has been they too will be hurting for the loss of Icarus.
The last few weeks watching him slip away has been difficult. We hoped and hoped he would get better, but were not so fortunate.
It was time for him to go and in time it won't hurt as much and in time we will all be together again.
