Rigel, Bijou was born in February and Mika was born in July, but Bijou was full grown when Mika came to us. He was a bit rough with her so we had to supervise their time together for a full month. After one full month, we allowed them to be together all the time. They still sometimes play rough, but Mika is grown now, and although she is almost 1/2 of Bijou's size and weight, she can hold her own. Sometimes when they get rough, we just firmly say "No" and they stop.
Absolutely yep!!!!! Dear Chris!Originally Posted by captiva
You know you must post picture of your new cat/kitten if you get one !
We have two litter boxes. One in our bedroom for Bijou and one in our daughter's bedroom for her Mika. They both use both litters. One day there will hardly be anything in Bijou's and the next day it's full and Mika's is hardly used, so it seems they both use both.Originally Posted by CoolCat
thanks Linda......I Got the point........Surveillance is priority..
Do you have 2 Littebox for each one?....they don´t fight for his own litterbox or whatever "Bathroom" that are available is equal???????
I have 6 ferals that are inside cats right now, ones I rescued. I had 5 Female kittens 2 have gone to new homes, and of course the kittens are easier I think to work with although I have Mommy cat also, they have all been spayed, shots, tested, wormed and such, plus I have two 1 yr old males that I rescued. The kittens have been a JOYOriginally Posted by CoolCat

Rigel, i also agre with a younger female preferabbly kitten because milky will sense that she is very young and needs alot of training to do, so it will warm up to the kitten alot easier IMO..
This is great Karen,Originally Posted by kkmauss
In my experience, it's definitely better to bring in a kitten and of the opposite sex! I would absolutely NOT bring in anything resembling an adult male. I once had a male Siamese who was about 2 years old and I made the mistake of adopting another 9 month old male. They were enemies forever.
I currently have two adult male Siamese, brothers. If you don't know Siamese, they are notorious for being jealous and territorial. I just recently adopted a little girl kitten and it has worked out beautifully. They both think she is their daughter/little sister/ self-motivating toy. It's very sweet.
Just my two cents worth.
