My 18 year old cat has been failing in health for over a week. They say or I have heard I will know when it's time to go to vet. I just need that kick in the butt or another view.
I do plan to do euthanasia,
I am so very sorry to hear that your girl is not well. Can you tell us a bit more about her symptoms/how she is? Yes, sometimes I have had the experience of knowing when "the decision" must be made. Other times, not. I would always say to trust your intuition and if you are spiritual at all, pray on this. Open your heart and your mind.
Hi lily has been losing weight and some teeth for awhile. She lately has become less active and is peeing but not defecating. Still purrs, wobbles to her dish, jumps up on couch.
I can tell it's all systems down in a few days and don't want her in pain. She is dehydrated and bloated. Thank you for all your replies.
I'm sorry to hear that. It's a positive sign if she is still eating, maybe she just needs a laxative? I'm sure your vet will know what's best. I hope you have a bit longer with her.
I have a 10o clock appt. today. In a perfect world, they will give her a shot and my girl will be young again!
I am sure it's time.
1st time on site, not sure if my replies are going out. Thank you for your replies
@june6163 Sorry to read your senior girl is not doing well. But don't give up hope until you hear what the vet says. She may just be all blocked up inside and a laxative/enema, and maybe fluids, may be all she needs. Good luck.
Lily went peacefully this morning at the vet. She was anemic, dehydrated and the vet said she had a hard lump in her stomach, maybe cancer? She was a huge part of my life. 18 years, she saw me thru 2 kids , a divorce, 2 homes, a death of my parent and my kidney surgery.
Honestly, just a best friend.
Her love had to be earned and she loved us all.
I just opened a can and thought she will be at my feet any minute! There is going to be a lot of triggers for me for awhile.
I'm so very sorry fro your loss, as you know she was a treasured family member and a friend. The bond you have with her can never be taken away, she had what she wanted most in this life, a family and your love. Don't dwell on the end, celebrate having that little girl in your life for 18 years. She shared your life and your love for a long time, the pain is overwhelming at first, time is the only thing that helps. We all wish we had more time with those we love, but there comes that time when they can no longer be tied to this earth. She is at peace now, free of pain and secure in knowing she will always have a place in your heart. Your love surrounded her in her time of need, she will send her love to you from the warm laps of angels who now are watching over her for eternity. RIP sweet little Lily, you will never be forgotten, sleep tight little princess!
I'm so sorry to hear that Lily has gone @june6163 It must be awful to lose her after such a long time together.
