Gah she really sounds like a moron, and that is precisely the kind of dog she would have.

Ugh, yeah, Heelers are drivey dogs, not suitable for casual pet homes. They need a lot of mental stimulation, and tend to have less patience with kids. Pit bulls are better pets and tend to like kids more, but are still drivey. Pit/Heeler mixes are commonly used as hog hunting dogs--very tough and active! Not great for a home that won't do a lot of trainng and exercising. Poor dog. Plus, at her age, if she's running loose or tied outside she's going to end up pregnant, making more active, drivey dogs who will be placed in unsuitable homes. A bad situation all around. Too bad more can't be done about the situation.
