So Josh and I were just sitting on the couch and Danny is in his usual spot. He loves to sleep in this clothes basket that we have by the TV that's got a bunch of random things in it (winter coats, old sheets, just random things that need to be washed...eventually). He sits up and closes his eyes a little. I thought "Surely he's not peeing...." I go and lift him up and low and behold, a big puddle of pee! Of course Josh freaks out going "DANNY! Why did you do that?" I go into vet tech mode and investigate the pee. I got it up with a papertowel and it looked a little concentrated and smells infected. Josh thinks I'm crazy about the smell.
Then Josh informs me that somebody peed on my robe that was on the floor in the bedroom. My robe is another favorite spot of Danny's. And I remember that I saw him pee in the litterbox in the bedroom yesterday, which he NEVER uses.
So, I'm thinking there is something going on. Why in the world would he pee in his favorite sleeping spot? The litterboxes are clean and even when I'm a bad meowmy and don't scoop for a day or two, Danny is still a great litterbox user. And I don't care if Josh thinks I'm crazy, his pee smelled infected!! And even if he would go outside the box surely he would at least try to hide it and not go in front of us.
Of course I'm off from work tomorrow, but I'll bring him up there in between classes. Hopefully we won't be busy and I can help with him and go ahead and take him home so he won't have to stay up there all day. I hope it's just a minor infection and not stones or anything. He's a youngster (just turned one) so I doubt it. Heck, I could just be overreacting and he's fine...just getting ornery,
. Fingers crossed!!
