I have been through this so much with my family. If you need anyone to talk to, you can pm me. I may not be the best person to give advice right now because of what has happened to my dad but I will listen.
My father has been through some pacemaker issues, too, and a six-way bypass to boot -- I so understand how scary it is for you. I've got your dad in my thoughts, and healing light is pouring down around him.
All of whatever , everybody is saying X ten! Just remember to always
stay positive, no matter what. I'm adding ya'll to my prayer list now!!
Be strong and get some rest, you'll need it!
Monique
I hope your dad is doing better today.
When my FIL was living he always had his bottle of nitro pills with him and instructions on what to do if he started feeling poorly.
Vibes to you and your family.
thank you everyone for your prayers. today is his birthday.
I'm hoping he'll be able to go home today. But everything is a 'big secret' in hospitals. everyone claims to know something but not enough to actually answer any questions.
The fluid and bleed around his heart is from congestive heart failure. The doctors are trying to figure out exactly what caused it. They are doing a heart catheterization today. They are concerned that by-pass surgery he had at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston isn't working.
I really in my heart think that nothing is going to be the same from this point on if you know what I mean. He was just supposed to have a routine procedure for his pacemaker last Tuesday and it's just been complication after complication after complication. Nothing is ever uplifting and in reading about all the problems my dad has, he's definitely not well.
If he does manage to go home soon - there's NO WAY they can continue to live in their house without reconfiguring it so he doesn't have to walk far. He is a stubborn man and I think that no matter what the doctor's say he has to do to feel any better - he won't do it.
Like the day he was let go home, before all these complications arose: he had a hot dog and an ice cream for lunch and was frickin' proud of it.
