I adopted a 6mos old female Ragdoll-look-alike from the shelter. She has Siamese seal or chocolate points and a plume-like tail. Her creme colored body has plume-like hair as well. I don't have a good photo of her to show you yet. Is this type hair typical of Ragdolls kitties? She does not shed (yet). Please send me some photos of similar 6mos old Ragdolls. I'd like to see how she compares. She is soooo sweet. Thanks

If you go to my CFA International thread and click on the flickr link, you should see a bunch on ragdolls there!

These sites are great for seeing the Ragdoll breed, as well as the best of the best.

Despite the myth, Ragdolls do shed, as does any animal with fur or hair, however the shedding is much less compared to other long haired breeds, and the fur usually comes out in clumps, very easy to pick off the carpet and toss, and easy for the vacuum to pick up. They do not need regular grooming, but many love being brushed and combed as part of bonding time. Depending on the age of the kitten/cat you adopted, she may or may not be Ragdoll, without papers, there is no way to know. If she is pointed, as it sounds, since she is only around 6 months, she will get a bit darker. Pointed cats, such as the Ragdoll, Siamese, Himi's are born white and develop their color over a period of 2-3 years. Temperature is a huge factor is how dark or light they will become.
That was wonderful that you rescued this little girl, and congratulations on your newest family member.

Stormi
