I know the feeling too. Right now it feels like I've lost most of my friends. I'm married, DH works night shift right now. All my friends are either still single or married and have kids, so I don't fit well into either 'hanging out' class. I mean I cramp the single girls style and I can only discuss toddler and infant things for so long ya know?

I just come here and play with my furbabies!

Hope your weekend gets better! I agreee with what others have said about socialising as you get older, it seems to get harder. Everyone has kids, busy with jobs etc and it's just harder and harder to get together.
This forum is great though! Lots of really nice people to chat with at all times of the day!

As some one who has moved around alot (hubby's work), I to, find it hard to make friends. Some people seem to have a couple of best friends but I dont ever seem to get a connection like that. I do what you said that you will do, have a coffee down town so that Iam around people. I have also started work with more social hours (no night shift) so hopfully I will make some friends now.

Marie try not to take it to heart, some people just dont know what they are missing. Hope that you have a easy time with your essay although it sounds way way to hard for me.

All the best Debbie

Thanks everyone.

I am feeling a lot better now. Things aren't as good as I would like but at least I am getting a lot better.
A few years ago, when I first went to University, I barely knew anyone. I went to the same university for 4 years and by the end, there were maybe 2-3 people who actually knew my name. How sad is that?
Now I've been at the new university for only two months and I already got that beat. I can think of at least 8 people who know me by name and quite a few more who would recognize me.

So I guess I can be pretty proud of myself
