This is Fairfax Ca where they thrive. I found if you walk slow....talk softly to them, and reach out your finger very slowly while talking, you can pick them up.
Problem is they love our heat and on a cool day are hard to pry off your hands and let go back in the yard. I just saw a couple mating but how could those eggs hatch this late in the season? The females play hard to get with the males. They run away but stop and wait for the male to run over, then off they run and stop again...acting all cute and coy Its too funny!!!
If you use any pesticides you won't have these marvelous little creatures so please let THEM eat your bugs! Is this a giant guitar pic? or a tiny lizard? My 18 yr old tortie cat is watching us......
