We have always when older cats are introduced kept them in a room away from other cats about a week. Even then we had some problems...Alpha Shadow literally beats her alphaness into all incoming cats. She never uses claws or teeth but she will bat and hiss and growl until they learn their place. She has done this since our original alpha Muffin passed on. With kittens 2-5 months we have never had trouble immedatlly introducing them straight in. Shadow will hiss at these but not bat or growl. Morris is a dady figure and will take on the role of protector until they are old enough to fend for themselves.
We are really courious as to when we should allow Elfi's babies once born to be introduced to the rest of the household, that is about the only place I don't have experaince with introducing.
