Next Tuesday (Jan. 11) I have an interview with a child advocacy organization for an internship in their communications department! I know it sounds wacky, me being 30 years old and trying to get an unpaid internship, but it seems to be the only way to break into non-profit work, which is what I think I'd like to do now that I've left practicing law. I exchanged e-mails with the person I'd be reporting to and she seemed really enthusiastic about having me there, and based on my qualifications I might be able to get more responsibility than the typical intern--which would be great experience and surely help me find a paying job in the field. It will mean budgeting my money better so I don't run out my savings, but my fiance has a good job and we can survive for a bit if it means a step towards doing something I really like. So I'd love some good vibes from you guys!
