She is curious meows alot!! And yeah i guess playful we have a pregnate cat ans i think she is adopting her but she dosent have milk in her yet she will this week whem she gives birth
Marysowner, kitten looks rather young to me. You need to keep her warm. In a pinch, take a tube sock and fill it rather full with uncooked rice. Warm in microwave, wrap in a thin towel, and let kitten snuggle to it. Or tuck inside your shirt and let body warmth do this. Your heartbeat is also reassuring.
Kitten must be kept warm but especially when you feed her.
Belly down, head up - just as she would nurse from mom cat.
Cow milk = no good. Goat milk is O.K. Best is kitten milk replacer, KMR is a good brand available at pet stores. Warm milk to just lukewarm, a drop on inside of your wrist should feel barely warmer than your skin. Bottle for pets = fine. No bottle, use a syringe without needle or a dropper. Baby kittens need frequent feeding, every few hours.
Don't know if this little one is old enough to pee / poop without help but our experienced kitten rescuers will soon be here with better advice than I have to offer.
Basically - keep warm, feed, and know that you are saving a life. Good for you!
Too cute! I can't tell if the ears have unfolded, but I would guess around 3 weeks old. Is it walking pretty well? That 3-4 week time is sort of when they get going or try walking.
According to the ears it's about 2 1/2 weeks old, but because there is nothing to compare it's size to in the pic, it's hard to nail it really accurately, unless you can describe things to me.
When she walks, are her back legs straight or is she more scooting around? Shaky/wobbly?
Her weight in ounces is ideal for accuracy too.
Once we can get a very close age estimate, we can help instruct you with what to feed, etc.
**Side note**
Cow's milk is likely to give her diarrhea. Best to get some kitten KMR (powdered is preferred over canned, but can certainly manage with either) or goat's milk.
It's a good thing that your cats are happy to adopt her. Don't give her cows milk as this will upset her stomach. You can get KMR or you can also give her goats milk. She's probably ready to start on solid food, mix a little canned food with some water and see if she will eat that. Gerber's Stage 2 baby food, the plain chicken or turkey flavours without garlic or onion, are great for little kittens too.
Like I said, without seeing her with anything, or even in your hand, I can look at it and at first thought 3-4, but then the more I look I see her ears, and she is likely more tiny then the pic shows.
All has been said - prob somewhere around 3 weeks or slight less. If you arent sure, better to assume the lower age, to not get any unpleasant surprises.
I will add if you cant get a good kmr, goat milk is a good alternative (I think it was Norachan who already mentioned it). Preferably raw goat milk, but bottled is OK. Full fat if there are several versions. Walmart carries it. Here in Sweden it can often by found in shops owned by arab and other immigrated owners. I presume its likewise in other coutries as well.
Are you now feeding this kitten? Are you using a bottle or is she lapping from a dish? Did you get some formula? She will need to eat many times a day to thrive. If she is crying a lot it's because she is hungry. Please let us know how this adorable kitten is doing.
