Hello,
About 10 days ago, I found a long-haired, black cat. He is very thin. He has a collar and tag (ID, not rabies) with "Nomar" and what I'm guessing to be a phone number. The problem is the tag doesn't have an area code on it - only the prefix 595 and the last 4 digits. I tried calling the number in my area code, but had no luck. I live in Indiana, but this guy could be from anywhere. I think someone truly cared about him at one time because he likes to be held and is very affectionate plus the fact that he does have a collar and tag. I also think he's been gone quite some time because his collar has become imbedded in his neck. I worked at a humane society for several years and I have seen this in dogs, but never a cat. It's possible he was a juvenile or even a kitten when he became lost and grew enough for this to happen. I feel so bad for him. If anyone out there has any ideas as to how I might find his owner, would you please, please post it here? This forum is the first place I found to ask for help.
Thank you!
Julie
