I have been looking for a vet for a while but have not had any luck finding a good vet, who uses Pure Vax and is close enough, that if I had an emergency, I could get there within a reasonable amount of time.
I use thr practice that the shelter.sent her to for spaying and I really do not like the vets. After my
last visit with one vet in particular there, I decided I would not let my cat see her again. However, her symptoms weren't resolving and I couldn't get an appointment with anyone else.
To begin with, I get the impression that, because I aak questions, I'm neurotic. Also, she is one of those doctors who is more loyal to the drug companies than her patients. She got an attitude when I asked about Pure Vax. I had to take my cat to a different vet just to get that injection.
On thia last visit, she recommended Convenia. I uusually will not give a long-lasting drug like that but my cat is VERY difficult to medicate with pills or liquids I asked about side effects and she told me there weren't any. I guess that should have tipped me off. Now that I have read Dr. Pierson's page, I wish I had never given it to her.
Then' when she called me with test results and told me that my cat could end up having FIP, she lied
and told me there was treatment. With that in mind, she also wants me to wait 3 weeks before re testing. Is she waiting to see if my cat dies in the meantime to confirm her diagnosis? Or is it because she talked me into giving that long lasting antibiotic?
I'm furious with myself for not trusting my instincts and deferring to a vet that I vowed I would never see again.
