It was a whirl wind. Happened so fast my head is still spinning. I was staying with a friend in her one bedroom condo because I wasn't feeling well and didn't want to be alone. Well turns out she wanted to sell it. And I fell in love with it! So I bought it! I knew I could get rid of my house quickly because it is in a prime neighborhood. Anyhoo... I'm all moved! Pretty much anyway. I still have a little cleaning to do at the old house and am having a garage sale this friday and saturday. That reminds me... I need to put an ad in the paper. I've got 2 refridgerators, 3 window air conditioners, a big farmers table, some end tables, day bed and a bunch more stuff to sell.

Ok back on subject here! The rooms are decent size. Especially the bedroom. There is a big walk in closet (kitty litter box in there).
And I have a patio with a view of the swimming pool. There is a locked storage area off my patio and that is fairly big too. They put nice sturdy shelving in there so it's excellent to organize. I love it, love it, love it! This is awesome because I still have enough room yet it's a lot smaller and thus, easier for me to take care of.

Now the sad news. Carmella and Henrietta have moved on too.
I just hope they are happier in their new homes. I think they will be since they didn't really get along with the others very well.
It was very hard and I still feel terrible. And I miss them a lot.

So that's my news. I'll post pictures once I get things a little more put together. Few more finishing touches and I'll start shooting snap shots!

WOW , that was quick . I am sure you had a lot of stress with the hole deal of packing and move . Your new home sounds wonderfull to me and can't wait to see some new pics of it
.
I am sorry you had to find new homes for Carmella and Henrietta
. But sometimes we got to do what we got to do . I am sure it was not easy to do for you . Please don't feel bad about that .
Did you find some one near by for them 2 cuties so you may can see them sometimes ? And will know they are ok . I know it would ease your mind and heart if you could . And I hope you don't mind me asking .

Thanks Hedi. I had a lot of help moving. All I had to do was pack. Which is a huge chore in itself! All my neighbors came over and moved everything including the boxes. One of them even has a moving business and brought his moving van. So we were able to do it in one swift swoop!

Yes, Carmi and Henri are fairly close by. I probably won't see them for awhile. It's too hard. And I want them to adjust to their new surroundings and family. And of course I don't mind you asking! I consider you one of my best cyber friends!

Congrats on the new place! Wow, things really fell into place for you!

Sorry to hear that Henrietta and Carmella had to go to a new home, but I'm sure you made sure that they are in very good homes. I have to commend you for putting their needs ahead of yours. That just shows how much you really love them.

Carmella and Herietta are not in the same home. They really needed to be in places where they were the only pet. Neither of them gets along with other animals well at all.

The kitties are doing well in their new condo! The first few days, poor little Jake was confused though. He kept walking around mewing in his soft, high pitched kitten mew and looking around like he was saying "where am I? I see my toys, my jungle gym and all my furniture but I don't know where I am." He
s calmed down now. They love to go out on the patio. I let them come out when I'm out there to watch them. So far they haven't tried to jump down but I may put some sreening around the railings just in case they try. But it's sort of second story. There is a half basement level and then mine is just above it. So it's far enough from the ground that right now they're not braving to jump! They also love to lay in front of the patio door and watch the birds. I forgot... I do have pictures of the outside! I have to go figure out where they are stored and I'll post them in a few minutes. I also have some new pictures of Jake I'll post in the Fur pictures forum later.

I'm really amazed at the speed you move house! Congrats on the move... thank god that things have fallen into pieces the way you wanted it to be.

I'm sorry that your babies have to go... I know how much you miss them.. there have been times which I have to let mine go cos they would be happier in some other homes. Be assured that you did the right thing for them.

That looks very nice mzjazz , I like it and it looks like a nice place to live too
. The Patio is also very nice and yes I think you may want to place some kind of screening for your baby's safety there
in time . Well , I would since I don't trust cats in jumping to much . Hey you got even a pool to swim in , maybe I come by sometimes and swim a round with you
. I love to swim
. Then I can snuggle with Jake too and give him some

Tammie. It's good to hear from you. Sorry to hear you weren't very well. I hope you're better now. I'm also very sorry to hear that Henrietta and Carmella had to go to new homes, but it was the best thing and I think your choice was the right choice. Hope the other kitties are settling in well. Your new home looks lovely.
Hope to see more of those lovely persian pics soon.

Congrats on your move. I'm so happy it all went so smoothly for you. It's great that you ended up with a condo, because it's your home and you don't have to rent from someone. I know it was hard to re-home your other 2 babies, but know it was for the best. I just found a home for my little dog Strutter as well, because it was too much for me. I have some nerve damage in my back and leg and it was getting too painful to give him the kind of walks he needed, plus one of my cats was picking on him too much.

Thanks everyone who replied. I appreciate your support and the validation you provided me to know I made the right decission.

I'm going to take pictures of the rest of the place either tomorrow or Thursday. I'm getting ready for my big garage sale. Put an ad in the paper and everything. In fact I got 50% off because I called their customer service and got bad, rude customer service.

Hope, I didn't know about your nerve damage. Are you ok? Sorry to hear you had to rehome Strutter too. It's hard, huh?

Forgot to reply to this one!

Brandon, I wasn't suprised at how fast I moved. I've had realators knocking my door for years. Almost since I came to Utah. My house is in a very sought after neighborhood that is pretty much surrounded by the Country Club golf course. I always poked fun at myself, saying I was the only poor person in the neighborhood. Which was pretty much true! But once I make up my mind to do something, I just do it!!

Glad your happy in your new place- and from what you've said about them- Carmella and Henrietta will probably be happier being only cats.
They (and their new owners) would have benefited greatly from all the care and socialisation they received from you.
My pair are very happy in an apartment- still I've never been brave enough to let my young one out on the balcony- (afraid he'll go over the edge) but
Bibby loves her time on the balcony in the sun.
Apartments are much easier- hope your new neighbours are OK.
Anyway- the best thing you can do for your cats is look after your own health and minimise stress
best wishes
catherine
