I am very worried about my mother in law. She is 71 yrs old and is a very spry (normally) lady. She is always active and out and about. For the past 18 months she has been losing alot of weight (went from size 10 to a size 6). They haven't been able to figure out what is going on with her - they have chalked it up to stress (her sister in law, sister and brother all died within this time). She is still eating (she actually eats more then anyone I know - I don't know where she puts it).
Monday night things got worse - she had chest pains. She ended up spending the night in the hospital ( of course she didn't let us know until the next day). She spent all day on Tuesday sleeping and went to her family doctor yesterday as she was still in pain & the hospital didn't know what was wrong. About 13 yrs ago she had cancer and had a kidney and lung as well as misc internal organs removed. Her doctor is great, he is near to retirement & only sees a few patients. He managed to pull some string & got her in to see a specialist yesterday & another today. What we know right now is that her one kidney seems to be failing and she is not producing any more red blood cells. Right now we don't know what if anything can be done!
My husband does not deal well with illness, death or even stress. He already seems to be shutting down so he doesn't have to deal with it. Now I am not only worried about her, but I have to be worried about him too.
Sorry just needed to vent - thanks!
