Ok I just got my TICA entry back and I didn't realise that they use US terminology.
So Hope is down as:
LH Kitten Lynx Point DIV Balinese
Chocolate Torbie Point Female
Now with the GCCF:
Chocolate Tortie Tabby Point Balinese Varient
Balinese Variant:
"Short-haired Balinese, known as Variants... Kittens resulting from mating a Balinese to a Siamese have a short, plush coat and are known as Variants. They are invaluable in a Balinese breeding programme as they carry the recessive long hair gene which they pass on when mated back to a long-haired Balinese or another Variant."
http://www.palantir.co.uk/bali.html
So if LH in her description is for Longhair then its definitely wrong.
So I heard in TICA they go by the phenotype instead of the genotype. Is this true? That would still not make her Balinese.
Also Torbie as far as I know is a tortie cat with tabby stripes right? Is that considered the name when its a colourpoint too? The problem is I only know one breeder who shows with TICA, and she is showing a full Bali and so doesn't know.
Any suggestions would be great
Thanks!
