We saw a cat today at the Humane Society that was isolated from the other cats, with a note on the door to keep her inside and ask a tech about her condition. She was meowing repeatedly. When we entered the room, she was almost ecstatic to receive pets and strokes, and was writhing all over the place. We thought she might be blind. When we asked about her, we were told she had water on the brain, and she was not blind. I cannot find much information about the care of such cats. We thought she was adorable, but I am not sure how much work and money might have to go into the care of a cat with hydroencephalus. Has anyone here ever owned a kitty with this condition? How often did you have to take her to the vet? Was she able to use the litterbox independently? Was your cat prone to seizures or need surgery or special medication? She is two years old..what is the life span of these kitties? Thanks.
