How to tell if my outdoor cat has gone to the bathroom?

Just like the title says, I have an outdoor/indoor cat. Lately it's gotten cold outside and I've noticed that he spends all his time indoors, going outside for maybe 30 seconds.

He has a litter box at home that he hates to use as well.

I was wondering if there was a way to tell if he has or hasn't gone to the bathroom? specifically to poo

Thanks!

Unless you follow him around, there's just no way to know :dk:. But if he's just popping out for just a few seconds I think it's a fair bet that's a bathroom break.

Thanks for replying so fast!

I was wondering about maybe something i could press on his stomach.. like maybe it would be bloated

There haven't been any behavioural changes though so it's probably me just worrying too much again ^^"

Thanks again :)

I watch my cats out the window when it's cold and they insist on going out. If they get out of sight they have to come back in. If yours only stays out minutes, it should be easy for you to follow and watch, if only to ease your mind.
