how to make a found cat poster

okay so my sister and i just found a cat. we can tell it use to belong to somebody because we remember seeing lost posters around but are no longer up. how do i  make a found cat poster? what details do i add and how can i tell that the cat really belongs to that person?

The best thing is to put a general description but not a picture on the poster. Include the color but not any distinctive markings, and don't give the gender. The owner should be able to provide a detailed description of the cat. Even better is if they have pictures of the cat. You can also give the area and the date the cat was found. Good luck on getting kitty back together with his/her owner.

Have you taken the kitty to a vet or shelter to be scanned for a microchip?

no we have not seen if he is microchip  yet. we should do it before we put any signs up. thank you for the help
