here we are at 5 months. my last lynx point was really light and then his entire coat went dark. this little man (clawdius)appears to be with white though. is there any way to tell what will stay white and what will go dark? is it basically all the ghost striped areas go dark and everything else stays white? will his nose go and chin go dark?

He looks kind of snowshoe, so those bright white patches on his feet/legs and face will stay white. The rest of him will darken, especially if your last one did. It is related to temperature. Cold areas = dark. I keep my house cool and my baby didn't like to be too warm, so he ended up pretty dark by full adulthood. He was lighter on his chest and tummy though.

im glad claude will probably keep his white nose and chin. so cute! he'd be cute if he went entirely dark too.. but i love that lil white patch on his nose lol

when we found our last one he'd been living on the tarmac behind a petfood store in a strip mall in august. I used to think that meant he was younger than older when we found him (the vets had him at somewhere between 5 or 10 depending on which on you talked to he was in very rough shape. no one thought he'd live a year but he was with us for 11 years.. now i think it's laying on hot tarmac that made him paler although looking and pics now he doesn't seem quite as pale as I remember him. although from how seriously he toasted up he was very pale. lol. he kind of lightened up a little before he passed on. guessing there must have been fever. he had progressive kidney disease. he was given a 2 month at most death sentence 2 years before he died. we were taking him to the vet techs for fluids 3x a week for almost a year.

Cute pictures of your past baby! It's fun to see how they change over time.
This was my past one -

He always lightened up a bit in the summer but darker in winter. He did once get an infection by his eye and that area lightened.

The white parts will remain white. The other parts will tend to darken up even quicker than otherwise!

there are times it's hard to tell exactly what is white and what isn't haha. the full sun photos of his sides do a pretty good job of showing that to be not white though. pretty sure his nose and paws and bib are actual white. not sure if there will be other patches of it or not. his sides look white in normal light
