11 years for me. Whoohoo! I still sometimes can't believe I did it. It took six years for the cravings to leave completely.
My sister and I did it together, thank goodness for e mail. It was my first and only try. It was her fourth and last try.
Up until the cravings left completely I continued to have dreams where I would buy a pack of cigs and just smoke one or two at a time. In each dream the pack would ahve fewer cigs in it, until they were gone, then it would start with a full pack again. I no longer even have those dreams.
I used to look with longing upon people smoking and be jealous. Now I look on them with pity they all look so miserable and am SO GLAD I've already quit and will never have to go through it again, it was a terrible terrible time.
I cried almost constantly for the first three months.
