We try. Oh, how we try.
We do not succeed. Oh how we do not succeed.
We do not succeed. Oh how we do not succeed.
It's a very liberating feeling, isn't it?I feel like some weight has been lifted.
I think we've all been there.I did so well today.
Threw out five or six big rubbish bags full of clothes, 3 pairs of boots and two cardboard boxes of random junk. The closet is half empty now.
It took ages and I had a moment where I thought it might be better just to burn the house down, but I ate one of Mr Husband's Mountain Climber energy bars and that got me through.
The cats helped. I'd made a pile of maybe-maybe not clothes and Hiro peed on it, so that made it maybe not for sure.
He's right though. It was all old dresses and skirts, some of them going back to my college days. Just because I can still get into them it doesn't mean I should.
If I'm feeling very brave I might tackle thehell mouthstorage space under the stairs later this week.
And don’t you feel like you actually have more makeup when you get rid of the stuff you will never use again and can actually see the ones you will use.I get fed up of not being able to close my cosmetic case so threw away some old eye make-up yesterday. I probably should have donated it to a museum, some of those eye shadows dated back to the Byzantine era.
Yes! And I found a new tube of under eye serum I'd forgotten I'd bought. I've started using that again too.And don’t you feel like you actually have more makeup when you get rid of the stuff you will never use again and can actually see the ones you will use.
It doesn’t need to be complicated - usually making a keep and a toss pile will get you a good ways. When I did my basement last Spring, a huge job, my toss pile was huge so when I was ready to tackle it I sorted it into what could be bagged and go into the trash and what needed special haul away or could be donated. I had so many trash bags, it took me maybe four weeks to actually fit everything into the trash .It's hard to declutter these days. If you want to throw stuff away, you have to sort it, and there's only certain days that you can take certain things to the dump. It's so complicated, I don't know where to start.
