Welcome to TCS Angel....first, I would recommend reading the links in this post:Originally Posted by angel1888

And if she is prone to escapades....you really need to ensure that she is placed in a room with at least 2 doors between herself and the great outdoors. She needs to have a sabatical from the outdoors until she can be safely spayed once the kittens are weaned. Becoming pregnant by an outdoor stray carries risks to both mom and kittens.Originally Posted by ms_joshica
I'm going through the same thing myself and def. read that article it helped me out a lot. With cats it seems as if its a wait and see game. If you are breeding her then just calculate the time that you put her with the stud. If you are not breeding calculate the time the she had her little "escapades"and escaped from the house. I'm am waiting like you. I have noticed the nipples enlarge a little. In fact, so much so that when I was rubbing her belly she was so mad at me but I felt what I though was a lump and that was highly unusually so I had to see what that was and it was only her nipples. That is when I began to suspect my Sheba may be pregnant. Its been app. 3 1/2 weeks now so we are going to wait a few more weeks and see if the nipples enlarge more and if her belly gets bigger. Those were my first suspicions.
Angel....I would get your male fixed now....a male cat can carry active sperm for a month after a neuter and I would hate for your girl to become pregnant again. If you are planning to have them fixed at the same time, she needs to be kept away from your male until they are both fixed.Originally Posted by angel1888
She was in heat just over 3 weeks ago and I have a male cat in the house too.
Were planning on getting them both spayed after she has had her first litter.

I didn't know that either until I joined this site. If you need a low cost clinic, just let me know.Originally Posted by angel1888

I want her to have a litter first.Originally Posted by GoldenKitty45
Why wait? Doesn't matter if she's pregnant now or not - its more important for him to get snipped!
My recommendation then is to take her to the vet and verify that she is pregnant.Originally Posted by angel1888
