How do you thaw chubs?

I bought some chubs from Primal and Smallbatch. They are 2lb each. Do you open it first and thaw, or you just put it on a tray or something and stick it in your fridge?

what I do is in a plastic container I pull out and thaw what my boy will eat in one day so it is always fresh. I pull out a few more if I will be gone and some one is feeding my boy. I thaw them in the ridge.

So, is it one piece of frozen chunk of ground meat or somehow divided? Do you cut the wrapping before you thaw it or after?

When I bought a NV chub, I thawed it as soon as I bought it, cut it into appropriate pieces, and re-froze. Then I can just thaw pieces as needed day-to-day.

I think I should clarify my question. 

I wanted to ask, do you cut and remove the plastic around the frozen meat while it's still frozen, or after it's thawed?

Ah, I remove it after it's thawed so the meat just slides out.

I put them in plastic bags while they thaw. Sometimes the chubs leak.Oh , yes, leave them in the wrapper until you make them .

I should have added that of course let them thaw in the fridge.
