how do you deal with a raw-unfriendly environment?

so I went out of my way (and budget) to find a vet who doesn't sell prescription food and doesn't look at me scowling when told what I feed the beasties. Yay to this endangered species of vets! She also told me all of Grisou's bloodwork is completely normal when the original vet pushed for more tests... did some acupuncture on him anyway (I insisted since I paid for it) which I, very unwisely, told people about. Now I have to listen to acupuncture jokes for at least two weeks
