How do protect my kitty from my Christmas tree?

I'm a 3rd year college student, and I live in a townhouse with my roommates.Just today we got an artificial christmas tree. My kitty, Banksy, has never been around a tree. I'm really concerned about him getting sick from chewing on it. We got an artificial tree because I read about real ones being toxic to cats.

We also got one that has the lights built in, shatter proof ornaments, and I even got plastic hooks for them. However, I'm still concerned because I saw him chewing on it earlier.

I took liberty to spray it with this No Chew spray I got. I tried tinfoil, but it didn't really work .

I just don't want him to get sick or anything from the tree

Love the Santa hat on top of the tree!

We have an artificial tree, too, and our kids chew on the branches. I honestly don't know what you can do to stop Banksy from chewing; we tried a lot of different ideas, but nothing worked with our kids either. Just try to keep him away from it when you're home and keep an eye on him.
