How did you come by your love of animals?

I really like hearing how other ppl came to love animals. It seems like for the most part it has a lot to do with people's parents and how they grew up, with a few exceptions. I think that's pretty interesting - it means that if kids are exposed to animals at a young age and taught about conservation - be it from their parents or at school - there's a good chance you can get them interested in doing something to help animals.
