Thanks
She looks more like a Torbie - that's a tabby tortie, so she qualifies. She a beauty, too! Are all her paws white like that? I love little mittens

I've never had a calico before, but have had this one blue tortie and 2 black torties. My mom has a black tortie, too. Their fur is very different to most shorthairs. VERY soft and silky.

Here is my baby a minute ago. I put the camera on the coffee table and snapped this toward myself

Felicia is the only tortie I have had. She is really a tabby tortie.

My sister's blue tortie was called a "blue cream"

I have also heard them called "dilute torties"

I believe the big difference is white.

Tortie coloring is mottled black, cream and red, or blue, cream and red (other combos exists, too). But no white in the tortie mixture. Calicos are black/blue, red and WHTE. Usually white is the base color with patches of other colors, but not mottled like the tortie.

Torbies have tortie markings and tabby markings, but the tortie parts should have no white, only cream.

BTW - Everybody's torties are so sweet! I love tortie girls

Ok so Loubelia's Faline is real a pretty calico not tortie?
I do think both calico and tortie are beautiful.

Actually, I think Faline would be called Torti with White, because she is mottled, not blotched. Calicos have a patchwork of colors, but they aren't all mixed up like Tortis. (If I am remembering my coloring right.....)

Nope
She's a torbie (tortie w/ tabby markings) with white. If she were a calico she'd have "patches" not mottled colors.

I found this better discription:

Here is a pic of a calico:

LOL, I call Faline a Torbie, cause her back is kinda patchwork of black and orange and her hind legs like a orange tabby. And cause her sister Nala looks like this:

Well I don't really understand the difference tortie or calico. Most important is I know that they are all beautiful.
