Hello all, I have a question about Natural Ophthalmics homeopthic cineraria eye drops.

I'm wondering if anyone has used them for their cat and what the results were.

I've read that it helps and could potentially cure a cat that has glaucoma.

Also if anyone could advise me on any natural products for my poor cats eye I'd surely be grateful.

She has been to a vet and I'm giving her  Tobradex ointment in her eye.

She goes back to the vet tomorrow for a check up but her eye still looks awful.

thank you

Jan

I am a human doctor, not a veterinarian and any advice that I give about a cat should be checked by a vet.

I do not think that you should try and treat Glaucoma, a serious eye condition yourself.  Certainly you should NOT try any homeopathic or alternative medical products.

There have been a number of double-blind controlled trials of their efficacy in humans, and the results have shown that there has been no benefit whatsoever compared with standard medical treatment, except for a placebo effect.  Using these so-called "natural" preparations can be dangerous, and for ophthalmic use they can result in blindness.

Be guided by your vet.  If you are not happy with the result, then you are free to obtain a second opinion, but don't try homeopathy, it does not work!
