My lil' deaf kitteh, Peanut Butterum, has always been timid. She stayed under the bed in my bedroom for weeks after bringing her and Sassy home, and has always been shy about venturing out. Little by little she came around, coming out to play with toys and explore, and even getting to where she would sleep on the sofa. She would help others wash and would walk around the others, but never was much for interaction or active playing.
I was standing at the door, getting ready to leave for work, and Peanut came galloping out of the bedroom at full tilt and tumbled into a rolling tackle with Mischief. Then, she hopped off him and did some "crazies", took a couple of swipes at a scratching post, chased Trace into the back bathroom, and then went galloping back into her bedroom.
Me'thinks my little deaf kid is finally feeling at home.
