Yes!!! I work in a call center, and what exactly do the supervisors do?? Why do they get more money for chatting with each other and ignoring the fact that we are 90 in queue? Most of the supervisors don't even know how to take calls anymore...they have been off the phones for so long in "meetings", which usually means 3 hour lunch breaks. I'm taking "sup calls", which means I just get yelled at more, but I'm not getting paid what the actual supervisors get paid, but they aren't there to take the calls.Originally Posted by KittKatt
When I used to work in a call center, one of my biggest pet peeves was when there were calls in queue (sp?), and the supervisors would walk around and whisper in your ear, "Hurry up and finish your call! There are other calls in queue!" Well then, if y'all are so worried about it, then why don't you take a few calls yourselves? What would really irritate me would be the fact that while these calls were in queue, they (the supervisors) would be discussing personal business over the phone w/ their family or friends, or be playing computer games on the computer. Double!!

I understand your point, and agree w/ it! But those are totally different circumstances, than making personal calls like, "Well, did you get your hair done today, Mom? How did you like the new hairdresser?"Originally Posted by valanhb

The one thing I do have to mention, though, is the personal stuff. You know, there are very few people who have a non-working person living at home and available during the day - when the rest of the world is working and available to fix things in your house, or yourself for that matter. I work from 7:30 to 5:30. If I need to make an appointment or something, I have to call on work hours.
LOL, are you sure we don't work for the same company??Originally Posted by KittKatt
I know exactly what you mean! They trained me to do what they called "Helpline", which was just a fancy way of saying. "You take the supervisor's call, and get yelled at for others' mistakes." - which should have been the supervisors' job! And we didn't get paid anything extra, either, for doing their job!
And like you say, Calico, most of the supervisors didn't even know HOW to take a call anymore - but yet they were in charge of us!!

Nope - I don't think so! You're in West Virginia: I was living in Wisconsin when I worked at that job - although they did have a call center in Las Vegas at one time, which has since been closed down, I heard...Originally Posted by calico2222
