I keep seeing posts from people asking how to get their cats to stop scratching the furniture or things that are not cat scratching posts. Hissy always tells us how much her cats love the turbo scratcher. Now, my Sam is a vertical scratcher, and has lots of places to go crazy (even though he is declawed). Bailey, on the other hand appears to be a horizontal scratcher. She only uses the carpet, and I don't mind, but it doesn't seem to do her a lot of good.
So I bought a turbo scratcher, brought it home, opened the package and put it on the floor. Sam went nuts. Scratched it, rolled around on it, lay on top of it with his paws spread out as if to say "This is mine!". Bailey took one look, went over, and tried to shove him out of the way. They have been fighting over it all evening.
So, once again, thanks for the advice Hissy, and Sam and Bailey thank you too. I will have to get another one tomorrow, so the pet store thanks you as well.
