Also, you should probably sweep/vacuum and clean your furniture almost religiously to pick up loose fur.

 i suggest you should hide him but feed, walk (if you get the chance), and clean his/her litter daily , but on an other hand i agree with jugen you should keep him with a relative that loves cats and willing to take care of it , if your landlord is allergic to cats you should vacuum the places he/she had been, but beware of getting caught there are consequences . good luck
