Hi I've joined tonight just found this site. Been googling loads for advice just got a new kitten. He's a british blue and my first pedigree. My last cat Leo died in January. He had lymphoma and there was nothing the vets could do to save him. We were devastated to lose him. We don't have children and Leo was more than a cat to us.
My partner said he couldn't bear to have another one but I knew I could't go catless. I researched all the traits we loved in Leo and every quiz I did came up with british shorthair as our ideal cat. Realistically I would have loved a moggie just as much but needed to sell this idea!
We brought teddy home last Sunday and he's settling in. He had an upset tummy for a few days so took him to my vet. She advised hills ID gastrointestinal diet and pro kolin paste for a few days and it's settled down. I'm slowly reintroducing dried food (purina junior pro as advised by the breeder) not sure if it was the wet that upset him or change of environment/jabs.
I've had a cat since I was 6 but it's been years since I had a kitten. Just want to do the best for him so googling like mad - every little sniff and I'm worrying! Would really appreciate any advice anyone has about best food for sensitive stomachs, letting pedigrees out or keeping in or any tips to make him as comfortable and happy as possible.
Wasn't sure how to upload pics to this post but I've put some on my profile
