I am the proud servant of Nytro a 7 month old Main Coon Cross. Our last two cats were Scamp and Boots and they lived to be 19 years old. I had forgotten how much work kittens are until Nytro came along. We are truly enjoying him and his antics - except for the climbing of the drapes in the living room. Spray bottles don't work - he loves water. Anyway, just wanted to introdce myself. Thanks
Welcome to the site to you and Nytro! Sounds like his name is fitting.
Have you tried a citrus scent on the drapes? Most cats dislike citrus. You can try spraying the drapes with a citrus scented air freshener, or even hanging the car air fresheners at various heights with safety pins, although the possibility is there that he'll think those are neat toys you put up for him.
Sounds as if you really have your hands full! I would be so happy to help you in any way as you learn your way around the site. Please, simply click on my user name and send me a Private Message!
I was searching for the answer to whether it was ok to give cats cow milk and stumbled on your fabulous site. Nytro is definitely living up to his name ... my husband is a funny car fanatic and they use nitro fuel to jump start them (or so I'm told
) and nitroglicerin is for heart patients. We were so heartbroken when our Boots passed that we said we would never get another cat but our Nytro has healed our hearts and jump starts our days. Sounds schmaltzy but it's true. When I introduced myself last night he had just come home from the vet after his "procedure" and having a microchip implanted. The Vet said he may be a little groggy but not our Nytro, he ran circles around our legs all night. Yes Misty's Mom he is only 7 months old and is already larger than our last cats and will continue to grow for at least another year. He is going to be the ruler of the house for sure. Thanks again for your welcome and offers of help. I'm sure I will use them till you are sick of me.
